With more than 150 girls participating in the 2017 Girls Day Out, the annual event is on track to be even bigger this year when it takes place at UWA Sports Park on Sunday, March 4.

The FREE event, which runs as part of Female Football Week, promotes female football pathways to girls aged 5-16 and encourages them to participate in the game.

The Girls Day Out kicks off at 8:45am and finishes at 11am, with gate registrations opening at 8am.

During the event, participants can meet Perth Glory Women players and enjoy fun on-field football activities with drinks and fruit provided.

A FREE ALDI MiniRoos Certificate grassroots coaching course will also be held on the day. The course provides an introduction into organising fun football exercises.

On the back of the success of the 2017 Girls Day Out, Football West will also be running a Regional Girls Day Out in Northam (97km northeast of Perth) during Female Football Week.

This event will run in a similar format to the metropolitan Girls Day Out and will take place at Northam Recreation Centre on Saturday, March 10 from 8:45am to 11:00am.
