Welcome to 2014.

Here’s this years football news so far.

Strategic Plan There will be changes coming for women’s football over the the next few years from a national level. Sarah Walsh, from the FFA, will be spear heading consultations across the states to canvas support for the blueprint (

Talk to your WSC members or to Football West for more information. Direct from Football West, will come support for promoting leadership roles amongst female players, into coaching, mentoring and management roles. Board Member Janette Spencer is working with the WSC to target mature and retired players.

State League Night series fixtures start the second weekend in March The venues are Coker Park Queens Park and Beale Park Cockburn. Note that Bunbury Forum Force have withdrawn from the competition (there will likely be a bye in the State League Division 1 season proper fixtures) Premier Division 1

The W League grand final sees Lisa DeVanna and Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar next Sunday on ABC

Club Open Days and noticeboards Theres some pretty flash Club open Day fliers out there, with clubs like Beckenham, Mandurah and Melville doing some serious advertising and welcome days to recruit players.
