Beckenham looking for next batch of Angels
2013 Women’s Cup winners Beckenham Angels will be running a football clinic this Sunday to attract young girls to the world game.

The clinic will be held at Mills Park, Brixton Street on Sunday, December 15 from 9.15am until 11am.

It will be led by Beckenham and ex-Perth Glory Women’s players Danni Calautti and Kristy Teschinsky, as well as 2012 Women’s State Premier League Golden Boot winner Andie Preiato.

The club is aiming to build for the future by having teams in the U13 and U15 junior divisions in 2014 and will also be forming an additional team which will be based on developing top-line players, including those in the 15-18-year-old age group.

Preiato, who will be coaching one of the junior teams, said it was vital for the club to develop a girls soccer program to produce the next generation of Angels.

“We have a number of highly skilled and passionate young women players who have coaching skills and want to use these to show girls just how much fun and liberating playing soccer can be,” she said.

“Playing a game that has been seen as being a boys game is very powerful for girls and can give them a lot of physical and emotional strength and confidence.”
