Female Football Week: Free female-only Level 4 Referee course

Dear players and parents,
Football West is pleased to confirm we will be offering a free female-only Level 4 Referee Courseto any female player over the age of 14 as part of Female Football Week.

The course will be held on Saturday March 4. Please note, there are limited places available.
Football West aims to ensure female players are actively engaged in all areas of the football community and we would like to offer our support to women interested in taking steps to become a referee.

SAP COME AND TRY DAYS 2017

Dear player/parent,

The 2017 Girls Skill Acquisition Program (SAP) launches this weekend with our “Come and try Girls SAP” days.

This Saturday 4th February & Sunday 5th February we are running small sided games for girls aged 9 to 12, combining football fun and development.

This will be an excellent opportunity for players and parents to meet the coaches and find out more about the Skill Acquisition Program.

The details for our Come and try Girls SAP sessions are below;

Saturday 4th February @ Celebration Park, Rochester Circle, Balga (North Venue)
· U9’s & U10’s will be from 9am-10am
· U11’s & U12’s will be from 10.15am-11.15am

Sunday 5th February @ Beelier Reserve, The Grange, Beeliar (South Venue)
· U9’s & U10’s will be from 9am-10am
· U11’s & U12’s will be from 10.15am-11.15am

Here are 13 things you may not know about our charismatic goalkeeper Melissa Maizels.

1. Melissa was born in Melbourne on the 10th of May, 1993.

2. Maizels is a professional postie for Australia Post.

3. Melissa signed for Glory in 2016 and has since become our first-choice keeper.

4. Maizels played for Melbourne Victory and Canberra United before making the move to Perth.

5. Melissa travelled to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup.

6.  Maizels is a passionate Tottenham Hotspurs supporter. 7. Melissa has ridiculously good relfexes.

8. Maizels doesn’t mind a cheeky dab.

9. Melissa can make an amazing cake.
