The 17s NTC team playing Northern Redbacks Premier team at 1pm.
We will be announcing the 17s and 15s players individually before their games as a recognition of their achievement into making their respective squads. We would love to see you all there in support of this occasion to celebrate how far women’s football has developed with the inclusion of the two new Girls National training centre teams into the women’s league. This growth has now seen three girls National training Centre teams up and running for this season completing the elite pathway for women’s football in this state. Please feel free to come down as we will be there celebrating all day.

Perth Hills United soccer girls do WA proud
Two girls from the eastern hills have starred for Western Australia in the national Under-14s girls’ soccer championships.
Emily Henderson and Emma Leaning have just returned from the 2011 Westfield National Youth Championships for Girls held in Coffs Harbour in New South Wales. Both Emily and Emma played for Perth Hills United and are now members of WA’s Under-15s National Training Centre team. Two more Perth Hills United players, Rachel Sands and Mikayla Romyn, were considered for WA’s Under-14s team.
The WA Under-14s team played four matches in its Group B pool and starred by remaining undefeated in three of them. Another highlight was a 2-0 non-points victory against competition Group A heavyweights Northern NSW.
Emily and Emma scored an impressive five goals of Western Australia’s total of 12, with Emily scoring three and Emma scoring two, one from a trademark free-kick. Emily Henderson was rewarded for her stand-out performance by being selected in the U14’s girls ‘All Stars’ team of the tournament. She was also recognised at last year’s Under 13s National Championships with ‘All Stars’ selection and even received a national call-up in 2010, playing for Australia at a tournament in Vietnam.
Overall, the WA Under 14’s finished their group in second place, behind the undefeated Queensland.
Emily, Emma, Rachel and Mikayla were all members of Perth Hills United’s champion Under-13s girls team, which won the 2010 ‘Top-4’ Cup for Football West’s ‘Smarter than Smoking’ Under-13s Girls Premier Division and the overall 13s Girls Cup. Perth Hills United is based at the Harry Riseborough Oval in Hartung Street, Mundaring and has a web site at: www.phufc.com.au
Football West’s two State Girls squads have performed incredibly well at FFA’s National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales.
Both WA’s Under 14 and Under 15 teams played four matches each in their respective groups and starred by remaining undefeated in three of them.
Another highlight for Jessine Bonzas’ Under 14 Girls was a 2-0 non-points victory against Group A heavyweights Northern NSW.
Maddison Schofield, Emily Henderson, Amy Le Roux and Emma Leaning combined for an impressive 12 goals between them.
Henderson was rewarded for another standout tournament with her All Stars selection in the Under 14’s team.
The youngster was also recognised at last year’s Under 13’s Championships and even received a National call-up in 2010.
Overall, the Under 14’s finished their group in second place, behind the undefeated Queensland.
Tanya Oxtoby’s Under 15 team was also at the forefront of their group, with two wins, a draw and just one loss in their tournament.
Leigha Bullock was the team’s top goal scorer with three, while Tia Stonehill, Caitlin Doeglas, Mackenzie Bell and Laitysha Wyatt chimed in with doubles.
The Under 15 finished side finished their group in third place and had two players identified, with Jessica Darmago and Doeglas selected for the All Stars.
Football West Game Development Manager Andrew Bettell says the performances of the teams have been nothing short of outstanding.
“It’s a real credit to Jessine (Bonzas), Tanya (Oxtoby) all the coaching staff and these future Matildas,” he said.
“They’ve been training for several months now and the hard work has paid off with some impressive results at the Championships.
“From all reports, the girls that made the All Star squads have thoroughly deserved their selections and we look forward to seeing their development in years to come.
“On behalf of Football West I’d like to congratulate everyone on a job well done, they have done their State proud.”
18-year-old Jennifer Wood (Meadow Springs) and Dawesville’s Opal Wright (17) also represented WA by refereeing at the Championships.
Feedback from the Championships is that the WA duo performed extremely well and enjoyed the experience.

Sunday, July 31 · 11:00am - 5:30pm
Bickley Road, Beckenham
|For||Beckenham Angels Soccer Club|
Sunday the 31st of July is the final home game Beckenham Angels and we would like to take the opportunity to raise some funds while showing support for our teams. We are organising a variety of raffles and a cake stall so please invite your family and friends to make the day as successful as possible.
Additionally, we will need people to donate delicious baked goods, so bust out your inner creative foodie and get baking! We …will need whole cakes to sell and also smaller items to sell off individually. Please let us know if you are able to donate anything and what you/your mother/your chef friend will be making so that we don’t end up with 5000 cupcakes and nothing else
