Perth Glory Football Club have A League, Youth League and W League teams. The women’s team has been competing in the W League under Glory’s banner for two seasons and as yet has not reached the finals. Players are selected from the Western Australian Institute of Sport squad and open Football West competitions in the lead up to the three month competition October to December.
Women’s football in WA has grown to include Premier and Reserve competition, 6 social divisions, representative squads from juniors through to seniors, futsal and masters. In regional WA there are zones from Albany and Esperance to the Goldfields and Port Hedland. In each of these zones state body Football West is setting up academies. The Masters event is an over 30’s annual national women’s competition that competes interstate. Biannual competition is an international competition. For more information go to www.australianmastersgames.com
